Q: Deleted a folder by dragging it from the sidebar

When trying to move a folder in finder, I accidentally put it into the sidebar. I then tried to drag it back, but it seemed to have deleted all of its content. How can I get it back?

    Hello !

If the folder is on the  desktop and if you are the administrator , it will prompt to enter the user name and password , enter it .

Please open trash , select the contents and drag and drop the contents in the folder ( it might be on the desktop or at the place you have moved it .)

Now you can close the lock of folder , again drag and drop in the finder window .

Second thought : If you moved the folder somewhere else , open the trash select all contents , take the cursor on top menu bar and click on put back , the contents  will be transferred to their original location .

    Thanks !
