Sometimes incorrect  proxy settings create issues , so i would suggest to disable proxy settings and do the settings as per screen shot . if you have enabled fire wall , file vault , stealth mode , formed a password for firmware , strong passwords are created for admin account , wireless network , these securities will protect your system and network .

    Thanks !

Proxy settings can be a minefield. From your screen capture I can see you are running Safari, this will respect the settings you make in System Preferences and also work with credentials saved in your keychain. I can also see that you seem to be running McAfee anti-virus, this could be itself trying to download updates over the Internet as will of course the Mac App Store. I have seen that anti-virus software is not able to use credentials from a users keychain this is because the anti-virus software runs as 'Root' and therefore cannot access your keychain.

For background software like McAfee you need to examine its own settings and enter proxy settings separately there, I know Sophos as an example has its own proxy settings so I would expect McAfee to as well.

Other software you may have installed may need proxy settings defining in their own preferences, this also applies to various Unix i.e. command line programs like curl.

In some cases it maybe necessary to define exceptions on the Proxy server to allow traffic to go through without authentication for specific websites. Microsoft Office Product Activation is another potential issue.
