I am planning to buy an iphone 7 from the apple online store in singapore. i want to the unlocked model. I want to know which model will apple deliver at my home?According to the site A1778 is the unlocked which works with my carrier. this the GSM model. can someone pls tell me whether apple will deliver the right model or is there some way i can the option to select my model number?
Apple will deliver to you the unlocked model that you can use with all mobile networks in Singapore and most of the mobile networks worldwide. You don't have to worry.
thank you. i asked it because i will be taking it back to india to use it. and according the the site the A1778 supports the LTE bands used by indian carriers. so i think there should be no problem.
Apple will deliver only unlocked iphones.you can better go for Model A1784
Bad idea. You will not be able to get in or out of warranty hardware service in India for a phone sold in the US. You will have to physically take the phone back to the US if it requires service.
the A1784 is for iphone 7 plus. its a little too big for my type of use. thats why i want the iphone 7. and this unlocked can be used in anywhere in other countries as well. right? i check for this particular model on the apple websites about the LTE bands and it supports the lte bands used by indian carriers as well. so it should work here too.
i thought about that. but in india the iphone costs about $250 more than the US. which makes really expensive in indian currency. and a couple of years back i was using in iphone 3gs bought from singapore. it worked fine for quite long.
You can buy AppleCare, I believe it would give you an international coverage for three years.
But if your home country is India, I strongly recommend buying iPhone on your local market.
if you decide to go with the Sg option anyways, contact your mobile network provider first and make sure there will be no problems with LTE, iMessage/FaceTime etc.

This is absolutely NOT true. AppleCare and AppleCare+ are only valid in the country of original sale. It does not give you an international warranty.
