Hello A.MROUWEH,
Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Community. I know how important it is to keep your apps up to date and I have some information that may help. Whenever we see issues with updates and app downloads, it's a good idea to sign out of the App Store by clicking the Store menu and selecting "Sign out".
Afterwards restart you Mac and sign back in and see if the updates will download. If the issue persists test the behavior in safe mode using the steps in this article: Try safe mode if your Mac doesn‘t finish starting up.
Let us know if the issue persists. The entire community is here to help.
Best regards

What updates are you trying to perform?

If it is an OS update you may want to try downloading from the Apple Support Downloads page.

Apple - Support - Downloads

If it is an update to the operating system (10.11.6) then choose the Combo version

Download OS X El Capitan 10.11.6 Combo Update

Most recommend this over the standard/delta update as it resets some system files.
