Q: Macbook Pro 4-1 boots anything!
Hi,
After a few days of a frenetic research on the web about my problem I wasn't able to find out the problem.
This is exactly my model: http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/macbook_pro/specs/macbook-pro-core-2-duo-2 .4-15-early-2008-penryn-specs.html
All started when I was wondering how to install in dual-boot an Ubuntu on my machine: as first I used the Official Ubuntu guide to create a bootable USB using Unetbootin and Rufus, NOTHING (Nothing on startup, even using reFind or Option-key). Then I've tried to use a bootable DVD, burning on it the .CDR image directly from my iMac, NOTHING (Nothing on startup, even using reFind or C-key). So, just to test what the **** was happening, I've made a Mountain Lion OSX USB, NOTHING! I had 10.6.8 as my OS, so I wondered maybe it was out of date, I've updated it to Mountain Lion OSX, NOTHING happened again using all above mentioned methods.
Now, all those tricks I've made finely worked on my iMac.
Any idea of what is happening here?
Kind regards, Arsenio.
MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5)
