After a simple one-tap setup, AirPods are automatically on and always connected.1.

1 Requires iCloud account and macOS Sierra, iOS 10, or watchOS 3.

So would these connect to other devices without the need for software? Windows is notorious for needing drivers but I don't own BT headphones so are these exceptions rather than rules? Not being cheeky, just asking.

Assuming that Airpods will work with any standard Bluetooth device, will they work in multipoint mode?

i.e. Airpods connected to a Windows laptop via bluetooth, but at the same time capable of ("automagically") receiving a phone call from my iPhone or playing music from my iPad as per the W1 capabilities.

That would be a great selling point for people who don´t own only Apple devices.
