Lightning Female to 3.5mm Male

With the recent release of the iPhone 7 along with the new fancy accessory for 3.5mm headphones, it made me think. What if in the future a years down the road when all headphones are lightning, and I'm still using the now outdated MBP Retina standard with 3.5mm audio jack, how will I listen to music via new headphones? Does apple have plans to make an accessory that goes the other direction that of the recently released accessory? So going from lightning headphones to female end of some adapter to male end of 3.5mm jack to computer (or any other device still with older tech.)

As only iPhones currently have a lightning port and no other manufacturers seem likely to switch, it seems unlikely that "all headphones" will ever be lightning jack based. I would imagine that the current standard headphones will be available for quite a number of years.
