Contacts sent via iMessage on Mac are malfunctioning

Whenever I am sent a contact card via iMessage and I open it up through my MacBook, it will save the contact in my Outlook contacts and not in my Apple contacts that show up on my phone

MacBook Air (13-inch, Early 2015), OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)

For some reason, the application designated to open .vcf files in your system is Outlook.

You need to tell the system to open .vcf files (contact cards) with Contacts.

Locate one such contact and access it in the Finder

[ - if you have one from one of those iMessages, control-click and choose Reveal; or drag one contact from Contacts to your desktop ]

Select the file in the Finder and press Command-I.

Change the Open With to use Contacts. Then click the Change All... button.
