Q: Airport Express Not Resetting

My parents are having an issue with their Airport Express (latest gen, bought back in 2014).  We had a storm yesterday and their internet dropped out.  I went to try and reset their router but it won't reset at all.  The status light just stays orange/amber and when I try to do any kind of reset (soft, hard, factory) it just stays orange/amber and never blinks like it should when it is resetting.

Is this thing toast?

Wouldn't be the end of the world as they were asking me how to get a better signal out in the yard and told them they probably needed a bigger router.  Nature may have forced that issue.

Unfortunately, a solid amber LED status light would indicate a power failure of the base station. If you have already tried all of the reset types, chances are pretty good that the storm damaged the unit and will have to be replaced. Sorry!

IF......you have AppleCare in effect on one of your Macs, the AirPort Express is usually covered under that umbrella for up to 3 years from its original purchase date.

Take the Express in to an Apple Store and tell them that you have AppleCare on a Mac, but the Express does not seem to be working correctly.
