my usb-c to usb adapter isnt working for my hard drive. the hard drive device doesnt show up in my laptop. what will i do?

MacBook, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)

You have not told us anything - about what hard drive you have, what type of adapter you have or what troubleshooting steps you have taken.

So, your solution is likely here ... somewhere.

you need to restart your computer.

Try testing the usb-c port or the usb port.

If the website does not work, try googling or contacting the creators of the adapter.
