Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! Sorry to hear you are having some difficulty downloading OS X El Capitan on your computer. It sounds like we need to remove the installation file and redownload the application from the Mac App Store.
The installation file for OS X El Capitan should be in your Applications folder. Drag that file to the Trash or right-click (Control-click) and select Move To Trash.
Then, restart your computer. This will establish a new connection to the Mac App Store.
Download OS X El Capitan again, and double-click the installer application in the Applications folder.
