Q: AirPort not working on El Capitan

hi

i have a MacBook Pro 2013 with El Capitan OS v.10.11.6 , and the iPhone SE with iOS v.9.3.5

i cant share picture (or anything) with my MacBook using AirDrop!

Bluetooth is ON, WiFi is ON and AirDrop "Discovered for Everyone" in both devices BUT they cant find each other!

in MacBook: Firewall is OFF, Bluetooth and WiFi is working good. i cant find "com.apple.bluetooth.plist".

in iPhone SE: Bluetooth and WiFi working good and Airdrop Working Between iPhones. and Reset Network Settings (doesn't helpful).

haw can i fix AirDrop in my MacBook?

What is the exact model of your MacBook Pro?

Hold down the option key and from the Apple menu choose System Information.

Select the very first word, Hardware

Post what you see on the right (don't show the private information in the last two lines)

This model is supported for AirDrop between OS X and iOS, so it should work.

Usually when things don't work it comes down to incompatible software.

I suggest you run Etrecheck and post its report.

    Completely uninstall bitdefender.

Antivirus should not be used on the mac. They cause all sorts of trouble and don't protect you from anything.

Completely uninstall cleanmymac - this is a scam. Never use "cleaners".

First of all, make sure that there are no remnants of these programs still lurking around.

You can make a few tests:

    1) Create a new user account and test in this account - does AirDrop work?

    2) Restart in Safe Mode - does AirDrop work? If it does, restart normally again and retest.

If all fails, you may need to reinstall the OS. The problem with those "cleaners" is that even if you uninstall them they have already damaged your system.

What kind of network are you in? In a home network there is no need for a proxy.

Your government probably does a lot of censoring and other bad things, but they are not to blame for airdrop not working correctly on your mac.
