Q: Add individual family member accounts to play games, use apps, music, etc without purchasing authority.

How do I add family members user names to my IPad2 in order for them to play games, apps, music, etc. Under their own accounts? I don't want them to have purchase authority.

iPad 2, iOS 9.3.5

    Hi Gdadwpa,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities.   It sounds like you want your family members to be able to use your iPad 2, but sign in with their own Apple ID accounts, is that correct?

The iPad has a different operating system than your computer, so you can't add separate user accounts.   You can allow your family members to use your iPad, but they would not be able to purchase anything from the iTunes Store without knowing your Apple ID and password.

You can, however, restrict access to the iTunes Store, certain apps, and privacy settings if you wish.  Here's how:

Use Restrictions on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Enjoy the rest of your day!
