Hi

on the last update it deleted all my history on my time capusal and started a new refresh history and started again from 03/08/2016 i lost all the back up. now this is the THIRD i have had this issue with time machines .

my mac mini is dead slow since i updated with last update also i started to loose data from my files in my documents.

i have 72000 pictures on my hard drive, i was using some of them before i updated the computer but they are no longer there .

getting really frustrated with MAC

what can i do, do i put leopard back on will my computer work better ? i do not want to remove the pictures they are all in files and many sub files ?

thank you

Seems that Tom Tom might be the culprit, but...

Open Console in Applications>Utilities & see if there are any clues or repeating messages when this happens.

One way to test is to Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, Test for problems in Safe Mode...

PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive & trash/rebuild cache files

Reboot, test again.

If it only does it in Regular Boot, then it could be some hardware problem like Video card, (Quartz is turned off in Safe Mode), or Airport, or some USB or Firewire device, or 3rd party add-on, Check System Preferences>Accounts (Users & Groups in later OSX versions)>Login Items window to see if it or something relevant is listed. Or an errant process eating up RAM.
