Music disappeared from iPhone 6s

I recently signed up to Apple Music and shortly after, some of my music disappeared from my iPhone 6s. It still appears in my iTunes library on my macbook.

I have re-set my phone and done a manual sync with my macbook. The music that hasn't synced was not purchased from iTunes so I suspect it is not being recognised as music. They were recordings that were downloaded from hightail and have been on my iPhone to listen to for years.

Any ideas on how I get all my music tracks back onto my iPhone?

Hi Becky2868,

I understand that after signing up for Apple Music, some music that was not purchased disappeared from the device. No worries, since you have the tracks in your iTunes library, you can use iCloud Music Library to keep all of the tracks safe and secure, then access them on all of your devices that you use with Apple Music. Please have quick look at the links below to get the best understanding of how iCloud Music Library works, and also get those tracks that were lost, back onto your iPhone.
