It worked!! Getting rid of the "=" in my password solved my problem! Thanks so much for sharing this with us! I had not been able to take advantage of my subscription on my Apple TV until tonight - it has always been working just fine on my other Apple devices. Sending good vibes your way!

thats not the problem after spending two days with sling tech support they gave up and referred me to here and I've really grown tired of this issue and I'm in need of help
I'm sorry to hear that. However, it's a problem within their app. As a first step, try force quitting the app, then run it again. You could also try deleting and reinstalling the app, in case that clears it up. This is just a user forum here, so we can't help much, unless another Sling user knows the trick.
I wanted to weigh in on this and leave an answer that worked for me, for those Googling the issue. It IS the presence of an "=" sign in your password that should be the root of the problem. I removed that from my password (along with an "!" for good measure) and it immediately cleared up the problem. I haven't checked ALL symbols, but if you have one in your password, I'd bet removing that will fix the problem.
I was chatting with a Sling chat rep while I was doing this troubleshooting. He said they had never heard of this issue, but it's clear that it exists. To test it, I actually changed my password BACK to include the "=" and the problem reappeared. It's definitely a bug that their password creation process does not flag for you.
Hope this helps someone else Googling this issue.
