Q: DVD Studio Pro "Supported Disc not available" DVD

Hello Forum,

I'm trying to burn a new DVD from an already existing, already saved and created DVD studio pro file with all menus linked to the video file.  Another company created the DVD Studio pro menu and file before me, I'm replacing the newly edited video and trying to burn a DVD with the new video and audio files.

I compressed the file in Compressor 3.5 using the create DVD button in compressor, I created an SD DVD file Mpeg2, both audio and video.  Imported it into the already created DVD Studio pro file, I burned the DVD, but is showing up at "Supported Disc Not Available" when I try to play on the DVD player on my Imac (also tried it in a standard DVD player no luck)....I've tried this twice now, the first time I realized I had created a HD DVD, I also created a separate folder on the external drive as well.  When I click on the DVD that was burned it shows as: HVDVD_TS, and no audio file.

Can you please help me, I've watched youtube video after another, but I'm not creating from scratch, I don't know the program at all unfortunately, but I'm using an already created DVD Studio file with lots of menus already linked to the Video and don't want to recreate from scratch...I'm thinking this should not be that difficult and I'm surely missing something.

Thank you for your help!

Open DVD Studio Pro's preferences and set it to create SD DVDs.

Hi David, thanks for the reply, I actually changed all of the settings (compressor, and DVD Studio Pro to SD DVD) still having issues.  I will try once again to see.  Thanks.

I'm not able to edit the "DVD Standard" in the project as it is grayed out..DVD Studio Pro manual says you can't change it back to SD DVD once the HD DVD is checked.  Next question would be can I copy and paste all of the assets into a new DVDSP file, there are 22 chapter menus and graphics from the older file.

Once you've changed the setting in preferences, also check in the Disc Inspector to make sure it's set for SD DVD also.

Sorry, as I probably was not clear, I'm trying to edit an "already" created DVDSP menu so I don't have to re-do the entire menu, there are 22 sub menus, so it is going to be a lot of work, and I don't know how to use the program. The menu is already created, the SD DVD is grayed out and set to HD DVD in the Disc inspector, so,  I"m assuming there is nothing I can do at this point but start over because I read that you can't go back to SD DVD once HD DVD is checked and saved in the disc inspector.  I was hoping maybe I could copy and paste files over, but you can't open more than one file at a time unfortunately.

The client was also able to take the "HD DVD" and have them duplicated and they work fine on all players, so this confuses me as well.
