Apple TV shows nothing but a white screen

I just unboxed and connected my new Apple TV (4th gen) but I see nothing but white on my tv.

After a while the screen saver goes on, and I get to see that. Also tripple-clicking the menu button audibly enables voice over, so it seems the system is running. I just can't see anything.

Any ideas what this might be caused by? Or better yet - just a solution?

Any thoughts on this are appreciated.

if you are seeing the screen saver but the OS is white screen try connecting to another TV. If the issue continues return the device to the store where it was purchased or contact Apple using the contact us at the bottom of this page.

If you see the screensaver but nothing else, there might be something wrong with your unit. Get it replaced, but first...

Reset it by disconnecting the power cord for about 30 seconds.
