Q: Takes Are Silent When Copied and Pasted in New Track

After recording multiple takes of a vocal part, and comp swiping around how I like it, I decided to double up the vocals and use some of the (unused) other takes.

I created a new duplicate track (CMD-D) and pasted the vocal track (including all takes), but the new duplicate track is silent.  I can see the track and all takes there, and have tried removing the plugins, copying and pasting different ways, but the track and takes just stay silent.  I can see them all there in the new track, and from everything I can see, they should be audible.

I have tried researching this all over online, and can’t find any mention of this problem anywhere.  Is this just a bug?  Am I overlooking something?

what version of Logic are you using.

It worked fine here with 10.2.4

Also how are you doing the "paste" ?

post a screen shot of your arrange page with mixer open

Thanks for the reply Indyuser, I am using v. 10.2.4 also.  here are a couple screenshots.  In the first, you can see the new track ("3rd") hightlighted, and it is the only one NOT muted.  I cant hear it.  Also, I have tried using different takes on #3, and then splitting the vox into right and left speakers, and whatever ear "3rd" is in, is silent.  It just seems so weird.  I mean, I guess I could unpack all the takes to new tracks (there are like 60 of them so it would be a total pain) and do it that way, but I'd really just like to arrange the new track just like the other one by using comp swiping etc...  Any ideas?  Thanks again.

you have take folders on a summing track.

I Will take a look at this tomorrow. You could help out with a quick test

record a vocal region ( not a take folder at bar 73 maybe 1 bar long.

THen coy this to the other summing stack you created

and see if that piece plays
