Q: Is the upgrade worth it?

I have an iPhone 5s that is slowly but surely dying. I generally go 3 years between upgrades. Does it make sense to upgrade to the iPhone 7 now or hold out for the iPhone 8? Compared to my phone right now the 7 has enough upgrades to warrant purchasing but rumors have it that the iPhone 8 is supposed to be "revolutionary". Any thoughts?

Only you can decide if the iPhone 7 meets your needs and falls within your budget. No one knows if the iPhone 8 will be "revolutionary" or great or awful.  You also don't have to decide right this instant. As long as your current phone is working you can chose to upgrade or not. Wait until the phone is in stores. Go play with it. Go home and think about it. Go read some reviews. Go play with it some more.

no one knows if apple is planning on releasing an iPhone 8, either soon, eventually or at all.

speculation for Apple products are not permitted on these forums, if you would like to pursue it there are other sites that cater to this and you should try them.

How long have you had the iPhone 5s?

If its more than 2 years old, you are generally in a good point to consider updating.

But as has been said, only you can determine if its worth it to you to upgrade.

Do you need the new features, would you perhaps be fine with an iPhone 6 or 6S or even an SE?

Does the larger size matter to you?

Would you like it to be the same size as the 5s.

These things and other considerations are your alone to make before deciding to upgrade.
