Q: How To White Balance

Some footage of the toilet show it to be decidedly yellow. It should be white. I select, on the timeline, the toilet footage, and click Color Balance icon in the viewer. A menu appears and I click White Balance. I move the cursor into the viewer and it changes to an eyedropper. I click on the toilet and the toilet in the viewer turns white. Good. The selected footage on the timeline is unchanged. What to do? I tried, with the viewer white john, clicking in the footage with no result. Clicking twice on the Color Balance icon leaves the timeline unchanged.  Thank you  BTW, I have the "Follow" clicked but don't get an email telling me there is a response. Shouldn't there be?

Check the Preferences on your profile.  Click your avatar on this page, and in the panel that open > Preferences:

The option "Content I'm following" should be on for the email preferences.

I tested this. The preview of the clip will remain unchanged in the time line, but when I play the clip, the viwer will show the adjusted color, and when I render the movie to share it, the exported version will also show the adjusted color.

Only the preview odf the clip in the timeline needs updating.

Léone: Thanks it is ON now and the emails don't come (as shown). I'll move it to Off to see what happens. Thanks

Lėonie: Right you are. Thanks. I also tried to click "Solved my problem" and nothing happens. Something is really counter-intuitive in these communities. Apple thinks it's cool.
