Q: Why can't I go on Facebook on my Mac?

I have a Macbook Pro 2013 retina display 15'' and this problem has been bugging me for a while. My macbook can't get on Facebook. I have tried clearing all the cookies and website data but it doesn't work. Trying open DNS. It is not just safari. It doesn't work on any browser like Chrome and Firefox or any macbook account in that computer. It doesn't work with any wifi. Occasionally, if i switch to a new place with a new wifi, Facebook might magically work for a short while but that might be because that place has a vpn. The only time it works is when I have my vpn on.  I remember I have something safari says about invalid certificate before Facebook ceased loading. It just totally won't load at all now.

I have bootcamp and windows 8 installed in my macbook. Facebook is totally accessible when i use windows.

I have OS 10.11.6 and my safari is 9.1.2

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Early 2013), OS X El Capitan (10.11.6), null

    Hi,

    Update Safari to 9.1.3.

Open System Preferences > App Store then select Check Now.

Try Facebook after Safari is updated.

If that didn't help, you may have a Safari extension or third party plug-in installed that's causing a conflict with Facebook.

From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Uninstall one extension then quit and relaunch Safari to test.

If it's not an extensions issue, try troubleshooting third party plug-ins.

Back to Safari > Preferences. This time select the Security tab. Deselect:  Allow plug-ins. Quit and relaunch Safari to test.

If that made a difference, instructions for troubleshooting plugins here.
