Q: change time ranges for specific wireless clients does not work

I wanted to change some time ranges for specific wireless clients but I encountered a problem.

When changing the access time from everyday/allday to everyday/between for a given wireless client

in Airport Utility/Timed Access Control/Wireless Access Times, the only choice given to me is a kind of a suggested range from 09:00 to 17:00. If I change it does not accept the time put in and it is jumping to 00:00.

Therefore I cannot do any adjustments.

Start over again and reset the settings in Timed Access back to their default settings.  The screen will look exactly like this:

You cannot proceed until the screen looks exactly like the example above.

Now, click the + (plus) button under the wireless clients box to set up "rules" for one device. The screen will look like this when you click the + button:

Type in a Description for the device.......example.....Junior's iPad

Type in the MAC Address....also known as the WiFi Address of Junior's iPad

    Change "All Day" to "Between"

Edit the times as you wish

The example below indicates that Junior's iPad will be able to access the wireless network only between the times of 5:00 PM and 9:00 PM each day.

You can also set up "rules" for each day by changing Everyday to the given day that you want.  In other words, a given device might have rules that allow it connect from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on most days, but from 9:00 AM to 11:00 PM on Fridays and Saturdays

Click Save to save and store the settings for Junior's iPad

Then, click the + button to set up the next device that you want to control.

Thanks Bob. I did all this and I did the same before. The problem is that I cannot change the in between time. The time comes up and when I try to change it it jumps to 00:00AM and 12:00PM. It does not accept any change.

This is very strange. Otherwise it would be so easy . Any idea how I get around this?

Unfortunately, I cannot duplicate the error that you are reporting.

I am confused by your screenshot though, since it appears that you are trying to change the default settings of the AirPort router, and not trying to set up a separate wireless device.

At this point, all that I can suggest is that you reset the AirPort router back to factory default settings......to clear out all the old, and possibly conflicting settings.....then set up the AirPort again.

If you still have the same issue, try setting up Timed Access using a different Mac.
