Q: Scrolling to top of camera roll/other folder in iMessage?

This has been going on since iOS 9 and I am finally fed up with it after just now realizing it hasn't changed in iOS 10.0.1.

The issue at hand is the inability to tap the top menu bar where time/battery/carrier etc. would be to quickly jump to the top of a photo folder in iMessage.

In iMessage:

Open a message

Go to attach a photo

Select any album

Menu bar above "Camera Roll/Moments/Favorites/Other Folder etc" is blank. Tapping it only selects the photo that's behind the opaque section.

You used to be able to tap the top of the screen to jump to your oldest photos. Now, you have to scroll and scroll and scroll.

This just isn't very easy to deal with honestly. It's a pain.

In other apps like Facebook/Twitter etc. I am able to tap the top of the screen to jump quickly to my oldest pics and the menu bar with carrier/time/battery etc. is visible. iMessage hasn't had this ability in ages. I have tried on my own iPhone 6S Plus, iPad mini 4, another iPhone 5S and iPad Air 2.

Even in the Photos app itself, it works like it should.

What's the deal?
