iPad

Q: iPad app does sync on my mac?

   I have a iPad air 2 and when I download apps on it, it also automatically downloads on my iPhone 6s. Why doesn't it do it on my mac? I prefer the apps on my Mac because the app are apps like Adobe, Microsoft Word, Powerpoint. I prefer a keyboard when typing essays or taking notes.

    If i'm understanding you, that's because they are different apps. For your iPad they come from the regular App store, for your Mac they come from the Mac app store and they are different. In the same way if you had an android phone you'd have to download one version of an app from Play, and the other version for your Mac, and they are totally different programs...despite having the same name.

    To add to @Skydiver119's response, the Mac runs a completely different operating system from iPad/iPhone.  The Mac runs OS X, while the iPhone runs iOS.  Just as OS X and Windows require different versions of these apps, so do OS X and iOS.

    You can overcome this issue by simply purchasing an iPad keyboard.

    There are also third party keyboard cases out there. I've used Zagg ones for my iPads, but Targus and others also have keyboard cases in various configurations.

     

    I'd suggest you shop on Amazon. Even if you don't buy there, they have the largest selection and you can get an idea of what's out there
