Apple just released the iPhone 7, why would their be a release date for an un announced successor to the brand new thing.

The 6s came out 1 year after the 6.

The "s" versions have always come out 1 year after the base number release.

In 2012 Apple Released the iPhone 5

In 2013 Apple Released the iPhone 5s

In 2014 Apple released the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.

In 2015 Apple released the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus.

In 2016 Apple Releases the iPhone 7.

in 2017 Apple will likely release the iPhone 7s. Though they could totally just jump to the iPhone 8, and have no 7s.
