Mouse scroll speed in Sierra

Hi,

I have extreme scrolling speeds in Adobe After effects and Premiere.
It is nearly impossible to work at the moment.. and I also have scrolling speeds down to minimum on settings which are so deeply hidden.. why not just add scrolling speed to mouse settings page?
I'm using apple magic mouse and MBP.

I, and many others, are having issue with scrolling behavior in MacOS Sierra. The issue seems to only be with 3rd party apps.

I have opened a case to with Tier 2 in AppleCare, and suggest doing the same, so that Apple Engineering can be made aware of the issue.

The only solution I have seen so far is people getting this program that I think is called "USB Overdrive" or something. I don't understand why the scrolling had to change though; it was just fine before. I'd rather Apple fix this rather than download some other fix. I'll wait a little, but I suppose I'll have to do what I have to do.

Reports from users of 10.12.1 Public Beta 4 are that the issue has been fixed (in the applications they're seeing it in). The Official 10.12.1 update should fix it for all users, once released.

This is known issue for all Java/Swing applications. Some Java applications have workarounds for this. I've found one for IntelliJ IDEA here: https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-158500 . JetBrains has prepare their own fixed version of JDK to make this work correctly.

Not entirely sure this is what you are describing but I was myself disturbed by a "strange scroll" just after upgrade to Sierra.

Turned out the "with ineria" scroll had been automatically checked after upgrading.

I didn't know about this option before but found it Preferences / Accessibility / Mouse and trackpad / mouse options.

I unchecked the option and the scroll went back to the behaviour I had before upgrade.

Installed the release version of MacOS Sierra 10.12.1 on my Mac mini (Late 2012) and the problems with scrolling a mouse wheel continue. The problem is very straight forward. When scrolling with a generic mouse (no 3rd party driver) that has an incremental scroll wheel, the screen or view does not scroll with each increment of movement of the wheel. In fact, In order to initiate scrolling, one must scroll the wheel several increments for movement to kick in. The degree to which one must move the scroll wheel for movement to initiate does not seem to be consistent. Almost as if there is some latency involved.

On OS X El Capitan on another computer, using the same mouse, the scroll behavior is correct. One increment movement of the mouse wheel and scrolling takes place.

The practical side of this is that many software applications are difficult to use with a mouse. I find myself constantly having to "work" the view into position. This is an ergonomic nightmare for someone using the computer professionally.

The more users that file their own bug report the more likely it will become a priority, even if they end up closing your bug as a duplicate, you may provide unique information that helps solve the problem.

And you haven't had any luck adjusting the settings over in Accessibility land?

No luck! I tried everything...

Tried everything too… bought a new fancy mouse, updated Indesign. Nothing changes the problem. I simply can't work with sierra and indesign because of the unbelievable troubleshootings with scroll and zoom! Only solution: go back to el capitan because my work flow is completely perturbed.

10.12.1 doesn't solve anything. Impossible to work properly with Indesign because of the scroll and scroll-zoom problems.

What has helped me is this setting. Note "without inertia" selected in Scrolling.

I hope it works for you all too.
