Q: Apple Music causes constant WiFi dropping

Hi there everybody,

I have a problem I just can't get rid of.

I have iPhone 6s and a subscription to Apple Music.

Every single time I want to download music to my phone or just stream it from my Apple Music account, doing so causes constant WiFi dropping after just few seconds. Basically said, I can only use Apple Music with mobile data, but since I don't have the unlimited plan for it, I really need WiFi to work.

No other app causes such problems, nor on my iPhone or Mac, where Apple Music seems to work perfectly.

It's just the combination of Apple Music and the iPhone ...

Reseting the settings/router/phone, forgetting the network, renewing lease and changing DNS didn't help at all.

Has anyone had similar problem? How did you solve it?

Many thanks in advance!

Cheers,

Nina

    Hello NinaG.,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. It's my understanding you've been dropping Wi-Fi connection when trying to download or play Apple Music. I use Apple Music on several devices. I can imagine your concern. I am happy to help.

You've done a great job troubleshooting this issue on your own. First, I recommend testing this issue on a different Wi-Fi network. If the issue persists it's possible the software or content within your iPhone is the cause. At that point the next step would be to restore the phone with iTunes. This erases all content and settings so it is very important to back up first. Please use the link below to assist with backing up and restoring with iTunes.

Use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings

    Have a great day
