Q: MagSafe adapter not working after all tips followed and fuse in plug Ok?

My duck-head Megasafe adaptor used with a Macbook pro has stopped working whilst my back was turned!

Having tried all the checks and actions described in the Apple support pages, it still dows not light up or show any current at the small pins when checked with a multimeter.

Is this the death of the adapter or can it receive some sort of CPR?

    Hi there!

Could you please specify which checks and actions you have done already?

Your MacBook came with both a cable to connect to the power adapter and a plug. Could you try both to see whether it works? You might just have a broken charger.

Please find instructions for that here: Reset the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac - Apple Support

    If the battery is nonremovable

    1. Shut down the Mac.
    2. Plug in the MagSafe or USB-C power adapter to a power source and to your Mac.
    3. Using the built-in keyboard, press Shift-Control-Option on the left side of the keyboard, then press the power button at the same time.
    4. Release all keys, then press the power button again to turn on your Mac

    If the battery is removable

    1. Shut down the Mac.
    2. Disconnect the MagSafe power adapter from the Mac.
    3. Remove the battery. (Learn about removing the battery in MacBook and MacBook Pro computers.)
    4. Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
    5. Reconnect the battery and MagSafe power adapter.
    6. Press the power button to turn on the Mac.

Thank you in advance for posting the results!
