Why do I get duplicate pictures in my Photos app?

    When and where are you seeing duplicates InPhotos? Does Photos show you photos you already imported as new photos in the Import panel?

     

    are you using iCloud Photo Library or My Photo Strem?  Are your duplicates iPhone Photos?

    with that amount of detail no one can answer but the most common cause is importing multiple times - either MyPhotoStream and USB import or photos showing up for USB import as new when they are not so they get imported again

    I'm seeing the duplicates in Photos.  I'm using iCloud Photo Library and Upload to My Photo Stream.  The duplicates are off my iPad.

    Have you set the camera on your iPad to take HDR photos? Then you might be seeing the HDR version and the normal JPEGs as duplicates.

     

    If you import photos from your iPad using a USB connection, you may also import photos twice, if your iPad is using "Optimize Storage" with iCloud Photo Library. The photos downloaded to the iPad may appear again as new photos.
