Q: IPhone 6s Mail Volumes

My lovely wife runs her own business and up to now has been a Blackberry user. She's thinking of going to an iPhone 6S (she's already moved from pc's to a MacBook Air and an iPad) but is worried about the volume of mail she receives and if an iPhone would take it.

Today as a sample her Inbox has 900 unread messages and over 1000 read,  Junk has 600 and Trash 500. There are a couple of mail boxes where alerts (400) and forum messages (1000) go.

A large portion of her mail includes attachments due to the nature of her work. Blackberry typical loses these or won't forward them, which is a large part of the issuse.

So, in a long winded way, will an iPhone 6s handle a large volume of emai?

thanks

Simon

    Hello Simon Murray,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

I understand from your post that you would like to know if an iPhone 6s would be able to handle the amount of email your wife receives on a daily basis. I know how important it is for your wife to be able to view and manage all of her emails for her business. If your wife's email account is an IMAP account, then the iPhone will mirror what she receives in her email inbox from the email service providers website. The emails are not downloaded to the iPhone itself.

In regards to mail attachments, there are several options for her. This iPhone help guide will provide you both with all the features of the mail app including attachments:

There are several more helpful tips in the above help article regarding Mail which will explain how mail is handled.

    Best Regards
