Q: Apple tv not connecting to itunes

The apple tv keeps giving a message that there is a problem communicating with itunes store and to try again later. I have made a purchase for a tv episode and every time i click play this message comes up. I have tried disconnecting, updated the software and signed out but there is no change. Please help!

    Hi. Please identify your ATV version. See Identify your Apple TV model - Apple Support if not sure. Can your ATV access other websites, e.g. YouTube? Are your timezone and region consistent with your actual location? Are you using any tyoe of VPN, unblocker, or DNS service?

    I am having the same problem with my ATV3 this morning.  Any content that requires authorization to play won't play and just gives the "Theres a problem communicating with the iTunes Store. Try again later." message.  Free previews of those same episodes play fine, so it is not my ATV.  It could be related to iPhone 7 pre-order traffic.  The obvious fixes like rebooting don't help...this is on Apple's end.  My iPad Pro also refuses to play the content.  It starts with the black video screen and the spinning wheel, but then simply drops back to the episode list.  This is something that will very likely fix itself in a few hours, or maybe a day.

    same thing with mine but movies play fine just not tv shows
