Will Apple ever give users of prepaid phone programs the ability to use the upgrade program with their service. If you are making the monthly payments for an unlocked phone, should it matter if you have an account with one of the 4 big carriers. Is there another way of being a part of the program without having to have an open account with one of those 4 carriers? Thank you for your responses.
I believe you can open an account with AT&T or Verizon, upgrade your iPhone through Apple with the Upgrade Program, then later that day cancel your account through whichever carrier with no fee. Unfortunately, I think that is the only way because Apple requires it to be activated with a major carrier, even though it is unlocked.
I thought AT&T only lets you cancel after 2 months of service. Am I wrong? Or if it's the same day it's ok?
I believe it says on their website that you have 14 days to cancel with no fees. But if it's over that, you have to pay early termination fees.
