Series 2 Watch Nike +

I presume that the new Nike + edition is at heart a standard Series 2 and will handle email, text etc but with Nike access and the running prompts etc pre-loaded over and above the normal OS3 functions?

Watch Stainless Steel 42MM (1st gen), watchOS 2.2.2

Many thanks, I thought so but all the advertising majors on the Nike side (naturally) and kind of clouded it for me.
