old 13 inch PowerBook not recognizing internal hard drive

Question

powerbook 13"(2001) boots only from external back up drive -does not show internal drive at all.

Any suggestions before picking up a screwdriver?

iPhone 6s, iOS 9.2.1, 64Gb

Does it appear in Disk Utility's sidebar, in any way?

You can try doing these basic trouble-shooting steps, if you have not already

If you find that this internal drive is faulty, I have a PowerBook (2000) that runs on an SSD. I posted info in this topic

That's a good suggestion. My suggestion (in other topic) is actually different, and cheaper. 🙂
