Airport Extreme (5th Gen) fails when changing settings.

I have an 5th Gen Airport Extreme. It's working fine on the network so far, but every time I try to change the setting or update the firmware, I get an error. After I reboot the router, I see that all the changes have taken or in the case of firmware it was updated.

Anyone have any idea what's going on here? I've reset the router a few times but the same thing happens. Any help would be appreciated.

Running El Capitan and using Airport Utility 6.4

Cheers!

Unfortunately, I'm not in front of my router right now. It's usually a pretty generic message "Something's gone wrong" "Unexpected Error" kinda thing. And then I get the yellow caution sign in Airport Utility. So I unplug the router from power, plug it back in and after it boots up all the changes are there.

I'd test it from the office (Back to My Mac works fine) , but I don't want to knock out my home network all day. I'll post a more accurate error message when I get home.
