Export some to a desktop folder and then use the finder to drag that folder to the EHD? Does that work?

With the information you have provided mu guess is that your need support from Paragon - I do not believe it is an APple or Photos for Mac issue sin any way - it is docuented that Macs can not write to NTFS disks and if you use third party software to change that you need their support to resolve issues with their implementation

Many applications have difficulty working with NTFS formatted disk drives even with third party software installed.

My suggestion is to reformat to HFS+ which is the native format for OS X.
