Q: I just want to use my iPhone to take pictures in Europe. Why does it require me to be connect to Wifi and activate my phone? It is annoying!!

How can I use the phone just as a camera when I am in a different country?

iPhone 6s Plus, iOS 9.3.5

If it's a brand new phone or it's been factory reset, you will have to configure it once.

You can also use cellular data to activate your phone. But don't worry. You have to do that only once. Your phone just have to check with Apple if the mobile network provider you use is supported. (a.k.a. if your phone is unlocked or not)
