Apple ID

Hi,


I'm trying to change my Apple ID email address to my new one (since the one currently on their uses my old name) but when I try to change it, a message shows up saying it's in use with another Apple ID?


Please help!

It has been my experience that if you're trying to change your Apple ID e-mail address and you get the prompt that the e-mail address is already in use it means one of two things: either you have created a different Apple ID account using the e-mail address OR you are using the e-mail address as a rescue e-mail for this Apple ID or for another Apple ID.


Once an e-mail address has been associated with an Apple ID in any way, that e-mail address can not be used for a full year AFTER it is removed from an Apple ID account.


The fix for this is the create a new e-mail address to use with your Apple ID. The e-mail address you're trying to use now is not available to become an Apple ID.
