Is the airpods water resistant? or even dust resistant?

Airpods
The air pods are not water or dust resistant, they come with a case and should be stored when not in use.
What about cleaning them? I end up throwing out apple earbuds because they are sealed and can't be cleaned. Most in ear headphones come with tools and instruction on how to keep them clean. I'm hesitant to invest in AirPods if you can't clean them internally.
