Have trawled through community answers to the above problem.
Using OS 9.3.5 iPhone 6 - toggled off and on, soft reset, full restore checked voice memos OK etc.
Toggle Hey Siri on and it just sits there. Toggle off and hold home button - get the vibration then speak = nothing.
Connected to wifi about 1ft from router and plugged into Mac 100% power.
Any ideas or suggestions would be very welcome.

Thanks for this - I'd followed the link and done everything it suggested. Siri worked once.
Then (after some more internet searching) added the ear buds and managed to get Siri to work (but NOT hey Siri 😕)
So, on the iPhone 6, Siri only appears comfortable (partially) with the earbuds attached - on my wife's iPhone 5 Siri works and on my daughter's iPhone 6S Siri works - both without the need to attach the earbuds.
So if there's anyone else out there with anything further to add that'd be helpful.

To use 'Hey Siri' on iPhones different than 6S/6S Plus/SE you must keep your phone plugged in.
