Time controlled by GPS?
Is the precision of the time displayed controlled by the GPS-Signal? Or by
No or the time wouldn't work on the original Apple Watch.

Ultimately, the time on your watch is determined via GPS technology, but that process does not happen on your watch.
Apple has Network Time Servers around the world. They communicate with GPS satellites that receive time information from the US Naval Observatory.
iPhone communicates with Apple's servers and relays time information on to the paired Apple Watch.
