Q: 9.3.5 iPhone disconnected while trying to backup via iTunes

Hello all,

 

I have encountered yet another issue with my iPhone, after upgrading from 9.3.4 to 9.3.5; I can no longer back up the phone through iTunes!

 

I checked a number of similar sounding issues but all of them point to resetting the phone (did that), changing the cable (unnecessary but did that too), etc.

 

After initiating an iTunes backup and waiting about 2 - 4 minutes, an error message appears that the phone was disconnected; iTunes was definitely STILL connected to the phone...so, the error made no sense. After the third failure, I decided to confirm that the phone isn't actually disconnecting at all by copying photos from Windows Explorer to a local disk...while watching the data transfer on a chart. At no time did the transfer become disrupted, even though iTunes presented this error message.

 

Great! I want to reset my phone because of a BT failure (after the 9.3.5) upgrade!

 

Anything that I haven't tried?

iPhone 5, iOS 9.3.5, 64GB
