Why does Apple supply a 10W charger for the I pad air 2 when the computer barn and hundreds of people on the web say that the 10 W does not work and it takes a 12 W charger. Computer burn told me that Apple changed their software on the iPad and they now requires a 12 W charger.

Apple sells the 12W charger because it will work across ALL iDevices and in most cases will charge iDevices faster for those iDevices that use a lower wattage charger.

Some iDevices, like the iPad Pro models use the 12W charger, already.

You have the option of sticking with the supplied 5 or 10W charger in the box or paying Apple $20 for the 12W charger and use it with every iDevice you own.

Large iPad Pro users have the option of purchasing and using Apple's MacBook 29W charger with the special USB-C cable to charge the large iPad Pro in 3 hours instead of 5-6 hours.
