Q: How do you play purchased music when you have changed your email and password after purchase.
I have purchased music for years. When I had some trouble with one email account, I changed to a new email account and a different password. Now when I try to play certain songs I am told to sign in to authorize using the sign in I used at the time of purchase. I don't remember that password and I Tunes says there is no account with my sign in. How to I recover these songs?

That implies that the purchases were made with a different Apple account. If you only changed the email address and password on the same Apple account, then the purchased music should play under your updated Apple account sign in info.
If you created a brand new Apple account with that email address and password, then the old Apple account is what you need to Authorize the computer for.
If you click on the song, then on Command+I, then on File, you should be able to see the Apple ID that you purchased the song with.
