Q: cant reinstall mac os x not available

Is great desperation to get back on the Mac road to recovery...I erased my hard drive and am trying to do a reinstall

of mac os x. However, after anchoring through all of the steps, when I reach the apple id prompt I get: "this item is temporarily unavailable" over and over again . Has apple done this intentionally to force an updated and new purchase to get back on the mac??

When installing an OS from the recovery partition, you need to use an Apple ID which was previously used to download that version.

If you don’t have access to one, restart with the Option, Command, and R keys held down(if the computer originally shipped with Lion or newer, or was upgraded to use the Internet Recovery system), or use a disk to install the OS.
