iTunes 12.5 artwork not sync to iPhone & smart playlist in wrong order

I have the same problem about the cover art not syncing... I've had it in the last 3 betas I'd say. Was expecting it to get fixed for the GM, but it didn't. I've tried resetting my iTunes (copying my media to the desktop and erasing the "iTunes Media" folder, then re-adding all the music) with no luck... I reported it twice in the feedback app too. Hopefully someone will find a fix/Apple will fix it soon...

iTunes 12.5 and iOS 10 have not yet been released to public.

I also have this problem. The GM (MacOs and iOS) didn't fixed it. After you have synced the music, the album artwork is deleted in your iTunes Library and is missing on your iPhone. Wired problem and this is only mentioned in this commentary.

So I found a workaround:

Select all albums, right click, get album artwork, then iTunes will download it.

Next thing is running this script: http://dougscripts.com/itunes/scripts/ss.php?sp=reembedartwork

It will take the downloaded artwork, download it locally and attach it to the file.

Then you're good to sync your phone without losing the artwork.

I found this common on iTunes 12.5 installed on Windows 10 anniversary update. This can be easily resolved by changing the compatibility mode of the iTunes applications to Windows 8 or lower. This solution definitely works. I have helped a number of frustrated friend and business colleagues. If you are on windows 10 , try this work around . Good Luck and happy syncing.

I know this is over a year old now, but Doug's script finally solved my problem of artwork in iTunes not making it to my iPhone.
