Hi,
I have a iPhone 5 and no metter which SIM card I input, the phone is picking only EDGE signal.
- All sim cards pick LTE when inserted in another iphone
- The phone has the latest iOS 9
- I did reset the network settings
- The cellular setting is set to LTE
- I was prompted to update the carrier settings when going to About which I did
Any idea what that could be? Can an iPhone be simlocked to Edge only ?

That is likely it based on your full description (a good description of the issue IMO... 🙂 ). I would contact Edge and ask about the status of your phone. This may help but Edge would have to unlock it if indeed that is the case:

Can you clarify what you mean by "Edge"? It that the carrier name or are you referring to the older, slower GSM Edge networks? If so, you may have a version of the iPhone 5 that doesn't support the LTE bands your carrier uses. Go to Settings>General>About and check the model number of the phone.
Yes I was referring to the edge technology and not the provider. I did not know there was a provider with that name 🙂

What is the model number of the phone? Settings>General>About>Model?
The model number is A1429.
The provider I'm trying to connect to (O2 CZ) has the following LTE frequencies

|---|---|
| 3 | 1800 MHz |
| 7 | 2600 MHz |
| 20 | 800 MHz |
But only the only actual coverage of all 3 providers I've tried in my place is 800Mhz.
This model does not seem to support the 800 Mhz band so that's probably the reason.
