Mail will not allow emails to be sent via the apple mail servers:
Within a university network.
Mail does not connect to the apple servers on the secure and non secure ports.
Teck has pinged the route and it clearly be seen to leave the uni servers and then enter the apple servers but it just dies around the 5th hope inside the apple severs.
I have now just received a notice telling me that Apple Mail has just logged into my dropbox account.
I do-not have my mail account setup to log into my drop box account - and the ip that its coming from looks very wierd - looks like someone is trying to mirror one of the uni's ip addresses.
If anyone has experienced something similar then please let me know.
Will be contacting apple personally asap to see if i can get a search on their servers.
