Q: editing in Quicktime Pro 7

Hello folks,

I have edited the color (changing from color to black and white) on a video I made. It doesn't save the changes despite the obvious save option I press.

Please advise!

Thanks, Bassman

Since you did not indicate your specific workflow, at this point we can only make guesses regarding your problem.

Based on what you did say, I suspect you may be using the A/V Controls to make your "adjustments." If so, then be advised that these are "playback only" controls. The settings are not stored the file itself. If you wish to make such changes permanent, you must do so using the "Export Options" window instead. There are 2 ways you can do this. Simply set your target audio and video encode options as you normally would using the "Movie to Quicktime Movie" export option. However, before initiating the export action, do either of the following in the "Filter" window:

    Screen Shot 2016-09-10 at 11.46.31.pngScreen Shot 2016-09-10 at 11.49.53.png

    1. Set the "Adjustments > HSL Balance > Saturation" slider to "0" as seen below or
    2. Set the "Special Effects > Color Tint > Tint type" pop-up option to "Black and White" as seen below:

Now initiate export of the content. As the video data is encoded, any adjustments, blurs, filters, sharpens, and/or special effects selected by the user are applied to the video output in the new file.
